We’re looking for an experienced Global Talent Manager passionate about attracting, retaining, and improving global talent at our fast-growing start-up with offices in Uganda, Kenya and San Francisco.
Fenix International (www.fenixintl.com) is a venture-backed technology company and our mission is to transform quality of life through disruptive innovation in energy and financial services.
Our flagship product, ReadyPay Power, is an expandable, lease-to-own home solar system financed through affordable installments from just $0.25 per day over Mobile Money. We use real-time transaction data to create a next-generation credit score to finance power upgrades or other life-changing loans.
To date, we have sold 60,000 ReadyPay Power systems in Uganda and we are growing our product portfolio and geographic coverage to bring power and a wider world of financing to over 2 million customers by 2020.

You will own the end-to-end process of designing, implementing, monitoring, and improving the talent management process for our global hires and current expatriate staff. This will include:
⦁ On-going talent management, including performance reviews and
⦁ Professional development
⦁ Cultivating team culture
⦁ Design, implement, and iterate on strategy and processes for the following core Talent Manager responsibilities:
⦁ Global recruiting
⦁ Employee on-boarding
⦁ Performance reviews
⦁ Professional development
⦁ Cultivating culture
⦁ Collaborate with the cross-functional team of managers to ensure all Fenix employees are following the appropriate HR processes in terms of global processes
Required Skills & Experience
⦁ A palpable passion for the work Fenix does and for people development more specifically
⦁ Ability to maintain big-picture vision while simultaneously focusing on the minute details – Think big and make it happen (another one of our values J)
⦁ Strong communication skills; ability to communicate well with a wide range of junior to senior candidates applying for roles in various departments from sales to customer experience to financing and engineering.
⦁ Ability to use data to make smart decisions (when possible) and the ability to make gut calls when necessary
⦁ Leadership and project management experience: we are looking for entrepreneurial candidates who have started or contributed significantly to a particular project, team, or new company and we especially value candidates who have seen projects through from start to finish, from design to scale up phase
⦁ Strong interpersonal skills to interface with all members of the Fenix team and potential global hires
⦁ Commitment to live and work with Fenix in East Africa for at least 2 years
⦁ Outstanding written and verbal communications skills (English)
⦁ High competency in Microsoft Office products
⦁ Thrives on teamwork
⦁ Bachelor degree
Highly Desired Skills
⦁ Education and/or work experience in a developing economy
⦁ 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-responsibility HR environment
