Job Description
Fenix International is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Portfolio Health Associate to play an important role as we work to revolutionize financial inclusion for the base of the pyramid. The role will report to the Portfolio Health Manager and will work cross-functionally with our customer service, product development, operations, sales, marketing, and technical teams on the ground to design, test, execute, analyze, report, and refine innovative projects at Fenix.

Candidates must have a passion for entrepreneurship, renewable energy and sustainable development in frontier markets.  As a Portfolio Health Associate, you will be based in Kampala, Uganda working on critical projects with real and immediate impact and will have the opportunity to travel domestically to understand Fenix’s customer base.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support Fenix’s mission to empower our customers with inclusive life changing products by shaping our Portfolio Health strategy
  • Innovate on how we incentivize customers to successfully complete their loans while still remaining financially inclusive
  • Manage several Portfolio Health projects across the following stages:
    • Pilot design
    • Pilot implementation
    • Impact measurement
    • Pilot redesign
    • Scaling across business
  • Conduct portfolio health analysis and disseminate learnings and action items to different departments
  • Develop and implement systems and processes to support new Portfolio Health projects
  • Train staff to implement new pilot ideas and scale vetted projects
  • Manage/oversee implementation teams during pilot
  • Support rest of the team on Portfolio Health-related data analyses as necessary


Required Skills & Experience

  • Leadership and project management experience: we are looking for entrepreneurial candidates who have started or contributed significantly to a particular project, team, or new company and we especially value candidates who have seen projects through from start to finish, from design to scale up phase.
  • Education and work experience in data analysis, statistics, financial analysis, etc.
  • Experience with survey design, analysis, and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Commitment to live and work with Fenix in East Africa for at least 2 years.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills (English).
  • Ability and drive to work independently.
  • Thrives on teamwork.
  • Bachelor degree.
  • Three years minimum work experience.

 

Highly Desired Skills

  • Proficiency with a statistical analysis program (e.g., STATA, R).
  • Education and/or work experience in East Africa.
  • Masters degree.
