Our flagship product, ReadyPay Power, is an expandable, lease-to-own home solar system financed through affordable installments from just $0.20 per day over Mobile Money.  We use real-time transaction data to create a next-generation credit score to finance power upgrades or other life-changing loans. 

To date, we have sold 130,000 ReadyPay Power systems in Uganda and we are growing our product portfolio and geographic coverage to bring power and a wider world of financing to over 2 million customers by 2020.


Job Description

You are passionate about uncovering consumer insights and delivering innovative marketing campaigns. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and will generate strategies that grow market share and brand’s reputation, improve customer experience and drive growth in Zambia and new markets as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the Marketing team to design and structure integrated marketing campaigns to build awareness and drive sales of ReadyPay Power Systems.
  • Managing the execution of several above-the-line marketing channels such as radio, television, print, outdoor and digital; ideally, this will include conducting basic graphic design work.
  • Developing large-scale radio campaigns including multiple local stations; negotiating packages, ensuring quality delivery of content, leveraging their reach as much as possible and ultimately delivering the greatest possible value for money.
  • Evaluating the efficacy of different radio stations using both internal and external monitoring data.
  • Drafting engaging and insightful content for ads, interviews and other public-facing communications.
  • Supporting communication through internal and external channels including social media, email, SMS, and more.
  • Coordinating the production of standard radio, television and web advertising material.
  • Exploring new advertising avenues, evaluating the suitability with our target market and potential return on investment.
  • Managing the mechanics of promotions and giveaways, ensuring the expectations of the target market are fully met.
  • Collaborating with the rest of the team to ensure all campaigns are executed successfully, providing leaderships and covering for other areas of work as required.  
  • Supporting the Country Lead with special projects as required, such as market research, public relations opportunities, partner presentations etc.
  • Documenting marketing processes and creating templates for easy execution of core functions (e.g. booking radio) and short campaigns (e.g. public holidays and once-off events).
  • Collect, analyze and report feedback to contribute directly to Fenix leadership.


Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 3 years experience in a similar marketing position, with a track record of executing successful integrated marketing campaigns.
  • A deep understanding of the marketing landscape, with a strong understanding of appropriate marketing tactics for the ReadyPay target audience.
  • Curious and passionate about ReadyPay customers, with a holistic view of the customer experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English, Nyanja, and Bemba, with additional local language skills desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong critical thinker, independently minded and creative.
  • Highly diligent, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint; graphic design experience a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communicator.
  • Excellent leadership skills - quick to take initiative and comfortable making decisions.
  • Eager to learn, spend time in the field and take on new challenges as they emerge.
