About the Role

As Portfolio Manager for Customer Acquisition you will own the makeup and pricing of our global catalogue of solar home systems, as well as the new product strategy for attracting as many quality customers to the ReadyPay financing platform as possible.

You will work closely with our country leads and stakeholders on our global team to ensure that our product catalogue and pricing suit the needs of customers in every country we operate in. You will need to be intimately familiar with these markets and their customers. As a leader in the product team you will also guide our strategy for development of new solar home systems and any other products that help us to acquire quality customers.

Job Description

  • Create and curate global product catalogue and pricing guidelines for customer acquisition products across our global markets.
  • Develop approaches to collecting feedback on product portfolio from all Fenix markets and prioritise updates and product development initiatives.
  • Own the consolidated P&L for our customer acquisition portfolio.
  • Guide product strategy and manage the combined roadmap for our customer acquisition portfolio.
  • Be a leader in a dynamic, diverse team of product managers, and enable them to:
    • Innovate and develop new products that improve the quality of life of as many new, quality customers as possible.
    • Maintain an exceptional customer experience for our existing customers by monitoring product quality and implementing a swift response to any quality issues.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience working in product or portfolio management roles
  • Commitment to serving the needs and improving lives of rural households across Africa
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary and geographically diverse teams.
  • Leadership and project management experience (in particular planning, scheduling and execution): we are looking for entrepreneurial candidates who have started or contributed significantly to a particular project or team.
  • Exceptional quantitative analysis skills and an understanding of effective technical communication and data visualization methods.
  • Experience building & maintaining pricing and sales models
  • Experience managing the P&L of a product or portfolio of products

 

Desired Skills

  • Experience living and working in East Africa
  • Experience in developing (ideally financial) products and services targeted at the BOP
  • Experience working with SQL and/or Tableau

Location

This role will be based in our beautiful Kampala office, with occasional travel to our other African offices.
