Position Overview

At Fenix we are constantly innovating new hardware products which include, but are not limited to: 1) solar energy systems, 2) lighting products, and 3) electronic and non-electronic devices which are financed and powered by the Fenix ReadyPay System. Our ambitious roadmap of life-changing products aims to provide greater inclusivity, quality, and value to our customers.

The Operations Product Manager is positioned at the interface between Fenix’s product & engineering teams and other cross functional teams and the manufacturers that supply our core hardware products.  In this role, the individual is responsible for managing new product introductions (to manufacturing) to deliver products in the fastest time with the highest product quality to the market and ongoing product operations for existing products.

The candidate is required to have strong communications skills, command good executive presence, be able to facilitate difficult issues and drive cross functional teams for closure. This individual should be very driven, proactive, hands-on, detail oriented and yet able to handle ambiguity.

Responsibilities

Capacity Planning and EMS Monitoring

  • Prepare a quarterly review of EMS production capacity against Fenix demand, report and highlight any gaps to MPM or SCM. Evaluate and manage vendors to make sure KPIs are achieved.

Order Management

  • Work with Fenix in-country operations teams to review and optimize monthly orders and 6-month forecasts.
  • Manage purchase order tracker, work with accounting team on PO generation, and oversee

PO signoff process

  • Monitor and control project scheduling to best balance factory and logistics efficiency.

Materials Management

  • Work with the Fenix and Factory project teams to mitigate risks of Fenix inventory liability, including minimizing E&O, and providing recommendations for disposition. 
  • Manage the materials pipeline, report on and highlight issues, and resolve any materials shortages.

Logistics & Customs Support

  • Study the regulations and requirements for each shipping country and ensure that all shipments comply with those requirements.
  • Monitor the shipment process from China to worldwide destinations and cooperate with each Fenix office to ensure safe delivery of our goods.
  • Maintain status reporting for orders in progress on Trello/Box, provide additional reporting as necessary, and act as a logistics liaison for each of the Fenix offices.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree, plus 6-8 years work experience or MA/MS/MBA degree.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin OR in French and Mandarin
  • Poise when confronted with sudden setbacks
  • Willingness to operate in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to make quick decisions with 80% information
  • Impeccable organization skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Willingness and ability to travel within China mostly and internationally
