Job Overview
Fenix International is seeking a talented, motivated Business Strategy Manager to join our rapidly growing team as we work to bring affordable solar power to emerging markets across Africa. This is a very strategic role that will sit at the nexus of financial analysis, data, operations & market development. The Business Strategy Manager will work directly with the Benin Country Lead to derive actionable business insights from Fenix’s financial statements, Country Model, budget & forecasting tools as well as various data platforms such as Tableau. These insights will help the Benin country team achieve sales, cost & profitability goals while pushing the market to new levels of scale. The positive benefit of these actions will be reaching a rural, low income customer base with life changing clean energy & financial services.

This Business Strategy Manager role will be based in Benin.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support the Country Lead with insights, analysis & operational processes that augment country growth based on deep understanding of financial statements, country financial model & budgeting / forecasting process
  • Own the building & monitoring of Country level financial models in order to drive strategic insights that assist key decision makers to increase sales, cut costs & drive to scale / profitability within markets
  • Support Country product team with pricing model updates and preparation of pricing proposals for new products
  • Work closely with Operational Finance to determine, monitor, report & analyze cash flows so teams may meet targets & optimise cash management
  • Manage the budgeting process at the Country level with strong oversight & support from Global Corporate Finance
  • Utilise & build KPI dashboards to offer business intelligence across teams
  • Manage internal reporting to Global team on a monthly basis
  • Help Fenix transform ‘what is’ data (financial statements, budgets, etc) into ‘what if’ analysis (key levers, cost drivers, etc)

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of investment banking, financial analysis or operational experience in a finance capacity
  • Deep understanding, experience & passion for building, utilising & managing complex financial models primarily based on Excel
  • Knowledge & experience utilising data analysis tools such as Tableau with understanding of programming languages such as SQL a bonus
  • Fluency in French is required and proficiency in English would be preferred
  • Chartered Financial Analyst or other similar designation preferred
