You will own the end-to-end process of designing, implementing, monitoring, and improving talent management for our global staff.  This will include recruiting qualified and passionate people to join the team and coordinating a smooth onboarding process so they are set up to succeed in their role; designing, improving, and executing processes; and taking on strategic initiatives to help the Fenix team perform at their highest while cultivating an incredible team culture.


Job description

Fenix is seeking a dynamic talent generalist with excellent data analytic skills to assist the talent team as we continue to build a highly effective, passionate team. The Business Strategy Associate’s core responsibilities will be to provide strategic insights and operational support while continuously cultivating team culture to maximize both talent team effectiveness and overall team performance across Fenix.


Key responsibilities

1. Recruit, hire, and place a pool of effective and passionate people excited to drive the Fenix mission

  • Play an active role in the recruitment of the highest-caliber motivated candidates to join the Fenix team
  • Be the consistently friendly, reliable, and timely face of Fenix as you engage with candidates through phone calls/phone screens, interviews, meet-and-greet events, and other occasions
  • Oversee an online applicant management system that effectively and efficiently tracks all candidate information
  • Post vacancies as requested by hiring leads to a variety of online job boards
  • Maintain a great candidate experience through the recruitment cycle

2. Own and execute talent operations

  • Suggest ways of better improving the existing templates, documents, and tools used throughout the hiring process
  • Support Fenix staff in completing the performance review process, including participating in professional development for staff
  • Play an active role in developing and implementing innovative ways to improve our culture and team happiness, such as through gathering feedback from staff, creating recognition programs, setting up social events, etc.
  • Help develop a strategy, collateral, and tools for the on-boarding of staff
  • Communicate frequently with managers and the team to ensure pertinent information is shared
  • Collaboratively develop and maintain processes and other records that support team daily operations as needed
  • Support Talent team to revise tools and templates for performance review, to enable a strong culture of feedback and growth
  • Maintain confidential records of any reviews and support managers to ensure performance reviews are completed on an agreed-upon calendar

3. Track and analyze data in order to drive continuous improvement

  • Utilize Excel, Google docs, Jazz, and other web-based databases to maintain precise records about all aspects of the talent management cycle (from recruiting and interviewing to hiring and evaluation)
  • Support data analysis around metrics that can help the Talent team better understand its impact on the team and the effectiveness of Fenix

4. Team Retention

  • Play a key role in on-boarding of new team members, both the development of onboarding materials and through implementing consistent processes for making new staff feel welcome
  • Track new hires through the on-boarding process and through their first 1-6 months
  • Help the Talent team develop and maintain network-wide initiatives such as leadership programs and specific professional development opportunities in order to understand how these programs’ impact on retention

5. Other duties as assigned from time to time


Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Master’s degree not required but a plus
  • 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; adaptable when managing multiple, shifting priorities; ease at managing competing demands and determining priorities independently
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with a high degree of accuracy and limited direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate complex ideas simply and succinctly
  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done - there is no job too big or too small
  • Excitement about working to create a world-class talent experience for our team, from large-scale initiatives to day-to-day operations
  • Strong computer and technology skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, familiarity with Google docs, and interest in and ability to learn new platforms
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teams
  • Ability to maintain discretion regarding confidential matters
